China's primary aluminium imports fell in November, but exports soared

Customs data shows China's primary aluminium imports stood at 194,000 mt in November, down 10.3% MoM and up 75.6% YoY. From January to November, China imported 1.367 million mt primary aluminium, up 153% YoY.

The total domestic primary aluminum export volume in November 2023 was approximately 22,000 mt, up 3462% MoM and 812% YoY. These exports were mainly the outflow of logistics goods from special customs supervision areas. The total primary aluminum export from January to November was around 195,000 mt, down 30.7% YoY.

The total domestic net import of primary aluminum in November was about 172,000 mt, up 59.2% YoY. From January to November, the cumulative net imports totalled 1.232 million mt, up 257% YoY.
