Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 18, 2023, the inauguration ceremony of FAW Group's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area R&D Institute took place in Shenzhen.
The event marked a significant leap forward as 27 co-established units, including FAW Group, collectively signed to build the solid-state battery industry innovation consortium. This consortium aims to innovate in and develop along the industry chain, integrating innovation, industry deployment, and financial and talent channels. The goal is to advance solid-state battery technology, discovering innovations and cultivating fresh advantages in new sectors. The collaborative effort is poised to drive technology transformation and industrialization, injecting robust momentum into the new energy vehicle sector.
Looking ahead, the R&D Institute will focus on cutting-edge technologies in new energy and intelligent vehicles, and also concentrate on advanced materials, power electronics, chips, and C-V2X, emphasizing breakthroughs in high-performance computing integration, flexible sensing, and photovoltaic cells.
By spearheading projects such as all-solid-state LiDAR and domestic replacements for advanced ceramics, it aims to lead in strategic emerging industries, fostering new productivity and technological innovation. This initiative underscores FAW Group's commitment to innovation, technology, and industry advancement, fostering high-quality growth in China's new energy vehicle sector.
