It's rolled up! The Ningde era showed two major innovations at the China Electric vehicle Club Forum held on March 26th: Ningde era launched the third generation CTP technology, internally known as "Kirin battery", through continuous technological iteration, and its system weight, energy density and volume energy density continue to lead the industry to the highest level. Under the same chemical system and the same battery pack size, the power of Kirin battery pack can be increased by 13% compared with 4680 system. The battery will be officially released in April this year.

At the China Electric vehicle 100 people Forum held on March 26, Ningde Times showed two major innovations:

Wu Kai, its chief scientist, said that through continuous technological iterations, Ningde era has launched the third generation CTP technology, which is internally known as "Kirin battery", and its system weight, energy density and volume energy density continue to lead the industry to the highest level. Under the same chemical system and the same battery pack size, the power of Kirin battery pack can be increased by 13% compared with 4680 system. The battery will be officially released in April this year.

In addition, Wu Kai said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued the essentials of automobile standardization in 2022, clearly proposing the revision of safety standards for power batteries to improve the level of thermal runaway early warning and safety protection. Ningde era's long-life 1000km higher specific energy non-thermal diffusion battery technology will be mass produced in 2023.

Since the second half of last year, the prices of core raw materials such as cobalt, lithium and nickel have risen sharply, raw material prices are still high in 2022, and there is great cost pressure in the middle and lower reaches of lithium power, while technological innovation is the source for enterprises to maintain competitiveness and is often used as an important means to reduce costs.

The trend of innovation: the structural system is moving towards high integration, large-capacity materials are moving towards high nickel, and ferromanganese is lithiated.

CTP technology, that is, non-modular, is the way to realize highly integrated batteries, which can increase energy density by 20% and reduce cost by 10%. It was promoted by Ningde era and BYD last year, and the fourth generation CTP technology of Ningde era is under development.

At the Electric vehicle hundred people Forum on the same day, Nan Jianxiong, president of Panasonic, mentioned that 4680 batteries will become the mainstream of cylindrical batteries in the future. 4680 battery is a "double innovation" in battery structure and material: using large cylindrical structure, the capacity of 2170 battery is 5 times higher than that of 2170 battery; using high nickel ternary cathode material, the anode material is upgraded to silicon-carbon composite material, new electrolyte containing LIFSI, carbon nanotube conductive agent and new lithium salt are also used.

It is worth noting that after the mass production of 4680 cylinders is gradually on the right track, Musk has shown interest in manganese-based positive batteries. Recently, Musk said that manganese has potential, and Tesla has been exploring the use of more manganese in batteries.

Lithium ferromanganese phosphate is one of the upgrading directions of lithium iron phosphate battery. The data show that lithium ferromanganese phosphate has the advantage of iron lithium and can increase the energy density by 20%, but the conductivity is poor, the process is difficult, and the barrier is high. at present, the battery end Ningde era, the material end German nanometer progress is relatively fast. Some analysts predict that lithium ferromanganese phosphate batteries will be mass produced in the first half of 2023, and the new technology route of M3P in Ningde era will become a new direction in the future.

Future technology research and development may pay more attention to battery safety

In the past, manufacturers actively promoted the evolution of battery technology with the pursuit of energy density as the starting point, and achieved great results in promoting battery cost reduction. As Miao Wei, deputy director of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, said, the energy density of China's power battery system increased day by day from 2017 to 2021, and the cost of the power battery system fell by 41% in five years.

But in the future, energy density may no longer be the most important indicator of power batteries.

Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, said at the China Electric vehicle Forum that safety is the cornerstone of the development of new energy vehicles, and cost is an important indicator that must be faced. After the mileage has passed a certain threshold, the importance of energy density of power batteries is decreasing, and the most important indicators may become safety, cost and cycle life.

Non-thermal diffusion technology is the safety design innovation of Ningde era. In September 2020, Ningde era took the lead in realizing non-thermal diffusion on 811 products. Since then, this technology has been adopted in Xinwanda scheme, GAC magazine battery, Dongfeng amber battery and Great Wall Dayu battery.

Soochow Securities analyst Zeng Duohong recently released a research report saying that lithium technology is an important direction in 2022. From the two aspects of upgrading the material system and improving the packaging form, technological progress will accelerate in 2022, while the leader will lead the technology upgrade and the leading advantage will be further enhanced. Ningde era around the battery energy density, fast charge, safety, cost, from the electrochemical system upgrading and structural innovation layout, the technology reserve is deep, supporting the subsequent continuous increase of global share.

The analyst said that look good on the main line of battery technology upgrading, including: high nickel ternary (recommend Rongbai Technology, Huayou Cobalt Industry, Zhongwei shares, Dangsheng Technology), structural components (recommend Kodali), manganese iron lithium (recommend German nanometer, iron lithium link focus on Fulin Seiko, Dragon Technology), additives (recommend Tiannai Technology).
