SHANGHAI, Mar 25 (SMM) - According to the latest customs data, China imported 1,165 mt of tungsten concentrates in January 2022, up 179.9% YoY, and 150 mt in February 2022, down 65.8% YoY. The imports totalled 1,315 mt from January to February, up 53.9% year-on-year.
The main suppliers from January to February were North Korea, Myanmar and Thailand, with the import volume of 430 mt, 252 mt and 221 mt respectively. The average import price was $11.6/kg.
Some mines in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas were unable to produce normally due to environmental protection requirements, boosting the demand for imported tungsten concentrates.
