Zhong Na Energy is located in Suzhou Research Institute of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in Suzhou Science and Technology City. Xia Gang, the legal representative, with a registered capital of about 10.8 million yuan, is a new sodium ion battery research and development enterprise. it is one of the earliest hard technology enterprises to promote the industrialization of sodium ion battery in China, and it is also the founder of the first sodium ferric sulfate battery in the world.

According to reports, the scientist of the company is Professor Zhao Jianqing, a doctor studying in the United States, who has 15 years of experience in the research and development of sodium ion batteries and holds a number of leading patented technologies. At present, a full set of preparation techniques for three kinds of cathode materials for sodium ion batteries have been successfully developed.

It is understood that Zhong Na Energy has carried out in-depth research on the electrochemical material system and process route around the polyanion technology route, and has successfully prepared a monomer sodium ion cell with obvious price and performance advantages: the testing results of third-party agencies and customers show that the battery has excellent safety and high and low temperature performance, as well as high energy density and cycle life. In several hundreds of billions of application scenarios, such as energy storage facilities, new energy vehicles and low-speed power tools, it has considerable market potential.

If the market has always believed that sodium battery can only shine in the field of energy storage, then the sodium battery of Zhongna Energy can also be used in application scenarios such as new energy vehicles and low-speed power tools, which undoubtedly increases the advantage of sodium battery.

According to Xia Gang, the general manager of the company, in terms of industrialization and commercial landing, the company has made full use of the mature industrial foundation of domestic lithium electricity, and has cooperated closely with dozens of scientific research institutions and listed companies, including Yadi and Shandong Energy. A number of strategic cooperation agreements have been signed and a number of high-quality engineering and technical teams have been integrated.

Vico Lithium noted that the development of sodium batteries has been affirmed by the management, and a considerable number of enterprises are laying out sodium batteries in depth.

In terms of policy, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said publicly on October 19 that new batteries such as lithium-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries serve as ballast stones to promote the development of new energy industry. it is not only an important foundation to support the wide application of new energy in electric power, transportation, industry, communications, construction, military and other fields, but also one of the key supports to achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization.

In terms of enterprise layout, according to incomplete statistics, nearly 30 enterprises at home and abroad have laid out sodium ion battery technology. The domestic companies include Ningde era, China Kehai Sodium, Xinwangda, Penghui Energy and other battery companies, China Great Wall, Rongbai Technology, Pu Tai Lai, Shandong Zhanggu, Huayang shares, China Salt Chemical, Zhejiang Medicine, Dow Technology, Baichuan shares and Greenmei and other materials enterprises; abroad, including British FARADION, American Natron Energy, American Aquion Energy, French NAIADES Planning Group, Japanese Kishida Chemical, Panasonic, Mitsubishi and so on.

The latest development is that Ningde Times replied to investors on December 20, "at present, the company has started the industrial layout of sodium ion batteries, and will form a basic industrial chain in 2023."

It is understood that the first generation of sodium ion batteries developed in Ningde era have the advantages of high energy density, high rate charging, excellent thermal stability, good low temperature performance and high integration efficiency. The energy density of the cell is as high as 160Wh/kg.

Ningde Times predicts that the energy density of the next generation of sodium ion batteries will break through 200Wh/kg.
