SHANGHAI, Sep 14 (SMM) – The rapid growth trend of the global new energy vehicle market, together with the domestic and overseas energy storage market and electric bicycle industry, has driven the new energy industry chain to gradually enter its boom. However, in recent months, the supply and demand of battery materials have been out of balance, and the expansion of raw material companies has been far slower than the growth rate of downstream demand, which drove up prices sharply. How to ensure the supply of raw materials, control the costs, and ensure the competitiveness of the supply chain have become the core focus of battery companies in recent years.
From September 12 to 17, SMM New Energy Division Director Wang Tian and marketing consultant Yu Lei are leading the SMM staff and members of the delegation to visit raw material enterprises of lithium battery industry in Ningxia and Inner Mongolia, with the purpose of facilitating closer and in-depth cooperation as well as more effective and sustainable communications.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the management of Ningxia Sinochem Lithium Battery Materials (Sinochem), including Marketing Director Wu Zhenhua, Production Director Pei Jianwei, and Director Gu Yu and Deputy Director Zhao Lijuan of Quality Inspection Centre. The delegation listened to the presentation regarding the company’s business development.

Sinochem’s main business includes the R&D, production, and sales of lithium battery material series products; the R&D, production, and sales of high-performance battery materials such as power batteries and energy storage environmental protection batteries; the development, transfer, service, and consulting of high-performance battery material technology; self-management and agency of import and export business of high-performance battery materials and technologies (except for those prohibited by the government); recycling, disposal, regeneration, and sales of used secondary batteries; the R&D, production, and sales of chemical raw materials that are approved by the government (hazardous chemicals excluded).

The delegation visited the factory of Sinochem to gain insights into the production process and product quality of the company's lithium battery among others.

The delegation members conducted in-depth exchanges with Sinochem on its core competitiveness and future development plans.
