SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) - China refined tin output fell 9.9% MoM to 14,561 tonnes in April, SMM reports. Tin smelters in Yunnan and Hunan slashed production due to environmental protection inspections. All tin settlers in Yunnan reported falling output, except Yunnan Tin and Gejiu Nonferrous Metal Processing which posted stable production. Jiangxi Kaiyuan Mining suspended output in April for removal, and Ganzhou Chiding Renewable Resources expanded output as expected.

SMM forecasts China’s refined tin output to keep falling by 2.5% to 14,200 tonnes in May from April’s level, as 20-day overhaul at Guangxi China Tin Group will cut output. Some tin smelters said that output will be affected by frequent environmental checks in the near future. SMM learns that government launches one-week environmental protections inspections in Gejiu again this week.
