LME Aluminum to See Range-Bound Trading Next Week, SMM Says

LME aluminum will trade in a narrower range next week, while SHFE 1610 aluminum will consolidate at highs, SMM predicts.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 26 (SMM) –LME aluminum will trade in a narrower range next week, while SHFE 1610 aluminum will consolidate at highs, SMM predicts.

SMM sees LME aluminum between $ 1,620-1,680 per tonne. Low aluminum stocks in China and expectations for improving aluminum consumption in September will allow SHFE 1610 aluminum to hold at highs of 12,200-12,500 yuan per tonne.

Aluminum ingot arrivals into east China are likely to increase slightly. Stabilizing SHFE aluminum might prompt some suppliers in spot market to sell. Spot premiums in east China aluminum market will narrow to 150-200 yuan per tonne over SHFE 1609 aluminum.

CATL Mulai Uji Produksi di Pabrik Baru Hungaria, Menandai Tonggak Penting dalam Manufaktur Baterai Eropa

CATL memulai produksi uji coba di pabrik sel barunya di Debrecen, Hungaria pada 22 September, dengan mengoperasikan dua lini sel pertamanya untuk memvalidasi peralatan dan proses sebelum produksi massal. Lokasi seluas 221 hektare dengan investasi EUR 7,34 miliar ini direncanakan memiliki kapasitas tahunan 100 GWh, menjadikannya basis manufaktur terbesar CATL di luar Tiongkok. Perakitan modul telah berjalan di sana sejak musim gugur 2024 dengan 537.000 unit diproduksi hingga saat ini. Terletak di sebelah pabrik kendaraan BMW di Debrecen, fasilitas ini akan memasok BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, dan Volkswagen. Peningkatan dari modul ke sel menandai tonggak penting dalam lokalisasi baterai Eropa dan akan meningkatkan permintaan tembaga untuk foil baterai, busbar, dan infrastruktur daya pabrik.
