[Cui Dongshu: Global Auto Sales Reached 43.9 Million Units from January to June]

Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) announced that global auto sales in the first half of 2024 reached 43.9 million units, with new energy vehicle (NEV) sales hitting 7.39 million units, boosting their market share to 16.8%. Pure electric vehicles accounted for 11%, plug-in hybrids 5.8%, and hybrids 6.3%, while the proportion of oil-electric hybrids increased. Sales growth of NEVs in the European and North American markets slowed down, while China's NEV exports performed well.
