[PT CNI Nickel Smelting Plant Expected to Go into Operation This Year] The first nickel refining facility (RKEF smelting plant) owned by PT Ceria Nugraha Indotama (Ceria) in Kolaka Regency, southeastern Sulawesi, funded by Indonesia's national bank, is expected to commence operation this year. The smelting plant project adopts rotary kiln electric furnace (RKEF) technology, with an initial construction of one production line (1 x 72 MVA) for processing saprolite nickel ore. In the future, four production lines (4 x 72 MVA) will be constructed in stages, with an annual production capacity of 252,700 tons.
