According to customs data, China's lithium carbonate imports were approximately 24,565 mt in May, up 15.9% MoM, with an average import price of around $12,131/mt.
Among these, imports from Chile were about 20,288 mt, up 18.3% MoM, accounting for 83% of the total; imports from Argentina were about 3,703 mt, up 8.7% MoM, accounting for 15% of the total. Chile and Argentina remained the main sources of China's lithium carbonate imports, maintaining a strong position.
In May, Shanghai still was the largest customs clearance destination for lithium carbonate imports, with an import volume of approximately 18,693 mt, up 26.6% MoM, accounting for 76% of the total.
