Recently, Volvo Cars and CATL signed a strategic cooperation memorandum aiming to deepen their cooperation in sustainable development. Li Hai, Vice President of Supply Chain in the Asia-Pacific region of Volvo Cars, and Tan Libin, Co-President of Market System at CATL, attended the signing ceremony. Zeng Lingling, Senior Director of Supply Chain in the Asia-Pacific region of Volvo Cars, and Shen Feng, Executive President of Overseas Passenger Cars at CATL, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, Volvo Cars will recycle retired and waste batteries, and deliver them to downstream suppliers certified by Volvo Cars for recycling and extracting metals such as nickel, cobalt, and lithium. CATL will then use these recycled materials to produce new batteries, which will be used in the production of new Volvo Cars.
