SHANGHAI, Oct 7 (SMM) –Before the National Day holiday, lepidolite's price dipped slightly. A leading lithium salt factory in Jiangxi, Zhicun, has scheduled October maintenance, likely reducing lithium carbonate output by 3,000 mt. Other factories have also cut their operating rates. Rumours suggest that if lithium carbonate prices drop further, Yichun Mining might reduce production, potentially tightening lepidolite supply. Lepidolite prices are predicted to remain stable in the near future.
Before the National Day holiday, spodumene concentrate prices dropped further. Domestic buyers remained uninterested in imported lithium ore. Domestic lithium salt factories and Australian mines were discussing Q4 long-term order pricing. Despite Australian mines offering lower prices, buyers remained hesitant, anticipating further lithium salt price declines. Spodumene prices outside Australia were already decreasing. Prices are expected to drop more after the National Day holiday and into Q4.
