SHANGHAI, May 29 (SMM) – A00 aluminium prices fell from 18,370 yuan/mt last Monday to 18,160 yuan/mt on Friday, allowing aluminium billet conversion margins to rise, but trades in billet market were poor.
Aluminium extrusion sector is entering the off-season, with orders at construction aluminium extruders falling drastically. If aluminium billet plants still maintain high production, the market will be severely oversupplied. The conversion margins will hover at a low level this week.
