Rusal issued a statement on its official website that the company plans to ramp up the production of Primary Equivalent Foundry Alloys (REFA) in the second half of 2023, with aluminium scrap taking 20% of the materials.
According to Rusal, the new alloy is in line with the strategic need of carbon neutrality and helps Rusal, its partners and clients to take an active part in the circular economy of the automotive sector.
It is reported that over 90% of Rusal's products relay on hydropower, and the company produces more than 3 million mt of low-carbon aluminium under its own brand Allow.
