CISA: Social Inventory of Steel Products Increased 9.8% in mid-January

In mid-January, the social inventory of five major varieties of steel in 21 cities was 9.29 million mt, an increase of 830,000 mt or 9.8% from the previous month, 1.77 million mt or 23.5% from the beginning of the year, 550,000 mt or 6.3% from the same period last year. In terms of regions, increment of the inventories in the southwest China was the largest and the increase pace in northwest China was the fastest. The social inventory of the five major steel products all increased, especially the rebar and wire rod.
