SHANGHAI, Jun 4 (SMM) - According to SMM's statistics, social inventories of silicon in Huangp port, Kunming, and Tianjin port totalled 27,000 mt as of June 4, a decrease of 5,000 mt from the previous week.
The social inventories in Kunming fell to a record low in nearly four years as most silicon plants in Yunnan were halted due to power rationing. Although some silicon plants in Sichuan, Hunan, and Guangxi have increased production, the worsened pandemic in Guangdong impeded the transportation, and the arrivals at Huangpu port declined. However, the inventory at Huangpu port stood stable amid lower exports at the beginning of June. Silicon social inventory is likely to further decline as the production in Yunnan is yet to resume.
