The semi-solid lithium-ion battery developed by the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has achieved commercial application. Compared with the liquid lithium-ion batteries commonly used in the market today, this new type of battery boasts a higher energy density, capable of extending the flight time of drones by an average of 20% and enabling electric vehicles to travel over 1,000 kilometers on a single charge, making it one of the most advanced new energy batteries in the world.
In terms of the construction of major scientific facilities, China has built and put into use more than 70 such facilities. These installations not only provide researchers with platforms for cutting-edge and strategic fundamental research but also promote the development of original innovations. Although China started relatively late in this field, since the construction of the first facility 40 years ago, we have gradually established a series of remarkable scientific research tools, including aviation remote sensing systems, artificial suns, and "ground-based space stations," continuously demonstrating our scientific research capabilities.
