Copper Premiums Rise Amid Market Uncertainty, De-Stocking Influenced by Substitution

[SMM Copper Spot] During the day, mainstream flat copper quoted a premium of RMB 40/ton to RMB 60/ton against the contract for the current month, while high-quality copper quoted a premium of RMB 60/ton to RMB 80/ton. The premium continued to rise during the day, but sentiment cooled as copper prices rose continuously today. According to research, the main reason for the current de-stocking is still the influence of refined and scrap copper substitution, and the resonance with terminals is still unclear. It is expected that the premium will stabilize briefly next Monday.
