【Ministry of Commerce: China's lawsuit is a legitimate act, the US severely disrupts the global new energy vehicle industry chain and supply chain】 The Ministry of Commerce held a press conference this afternoon. Regarding China's complaint to the WTO against US regulations that hinder electric vehicle manufacturers from purchasing battery materials from China, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Gao Yan said that the US, under the guise of addressing climate change and a low-carbon environment, introduced the "Inflation Reduction Act" and its implementation regulations. This law requires the use of products from specific regions, such as the US, as a condition for subsidies, leading to the development of discriminatory subsidy policies that distort fair competition and severely disrupt the global new energy vehicle industry chain and supply chain. This violates relevant rules of the WTO. China's lawsuit is not only a legitimate act to protect the interests of Chinese new energy vehicle companies and ensure a fair competition environment in the global new energy vehicle industry, but also to firmly defend a rules-based multilateral trade system and maintain the stability of the global new energy vehicle industry chain and supply chain.
