SHANGHAI, Feb 3 (SMM) - Recently, phase I of the LFP cathode material production lines in Yuxi owned by Fengyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. officially started commissioning and operation.
Fengyuan Chemical is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Its main products include LFP, ternary materials and other lithium-ion battery cathode materials. It has subsidiaries such as Fengyuan Lithium Energy, Anhui Fengyuan, and Fengyuan (Yunnan) Lithium Energy. The company has three industrial bases across China.
According to the data, the total designed production capacity of LFP in Yuxi is 200,000 mt per year. Phase I of annual LFP capacity of 50,000 mt, is an important part of it. The commissioning and operation began before the Chinese New Year of 2023.
At present, the three major bases of Fengyuan Chemical are ramping up production. In addition, the company’s newly built production lines with an annual LFP capacity of 40,000 mt in Zaozhuang were put into trial production at the end of August 2022, and the capacity is released gradually. Production lines with an annual LFP capacity of 25,000 mt in Anqing were put into operation successfully in November 2022. Besides, Fengyuan Chemical also processes ternary cathode materials. At present, the high-nickel material capacity reaches 15,000 mt.
Up to now, the total LFP production capacity owned by Fengyuan Chemical has reached 140,000 mt. It is planned that by mid-2023, the production capacity of lithium battery cathode materials will be 315,000 mt, and the production capacity of LFP will reach 100,000 mt.
