The total investment exceeds 1 billion yuan! The first production line of graphite anode material for lithium-ion battery in Haidong, Qinghai Province was put into production recently, Haidong City, Qinghai Province reported that the city's first production line of graphite anode material for lithium-ion battery-- the graphitization production line of lithium-ion battery anode material of Qinghai Tianlan New Energy material Co., Ltd., was officially put into operation. The project has a total investment of 1.03 billion yuan and will be carried out in two phases. The first phase of the project invests 150 million yuan to build a graphitization processing production line with an annual output of 10, 000 tons of lithium-ion battery anode materials.

SMM March 7: recently, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, reported that the city's first lithium-ion battery graphite anode material production line-Qinghai Tianlan New Energy material Co., Ltd. lithium-ion battery anode material graphitization production line has been put into operation.

It is understood that the total investment of the project is 1.03 billion yuan, which is divided into two phases. The first phase of the project invests 150 million yuan to build a graphitization processing production line with an annual output of 10, 000 tons of lithium-ion battery anode materials; the second phase of the project invests 880 million yuan to build a graphitization processing production line with an annual output of 20, 000 tons of lithium-ion battery anode materials and a supporting production line of 30, 000 tons of anode materials

The main function of the anode material produced by the production line is to store and release energy, which mainly affects the cycle performance of lithium battery. It is reported that the construction of the second phase of the new project will start in April this year and is expected to be put into production by the end of the year. When the project is completed, it is expected that the output value of the project will exceed 1 billion yuan in 2023.

Recently, there has been frequent news about the production of negative materials. On March 7, Baichuan said on the interactive platform that Ningxia's 50, 000-ton needle coke project and 5000-ton graphite anode material (10, 000 tons graphitization) project have been put into production, and lithium iron phosphate and lithium electricity recovery projects are under construction.

Longbai Technology also announced in early February that the first phase of the project with an annual production capacity of 100000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries invested by China carbon New Materials, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has been completed and has now entered the stage of trial production.

This week, the industry chain continued to consolidate on a weak note, with clear divergence between supply and demand. On the upstream side, raw material suppliers remained firm in holding prices, while downstream buyers continued to push for lower prices, widening the psychological price spread between buyers and sellers and making spot transactions difficult to advance. Some salt products came under pressure due to lower raw material costs, low-price selling by traders, and weak demand, with a few varieties already pulling back slightly. The price center of powder materials continued to shift lower, with weakening cost support, and the market remained in a bottoming phase. Midstream materials showed divergent performance: some precursors were dragged down by weaker nickel salts, with order coefficients under pressure and domestic production schedules subdued, though overseas high-nickel orders remained relatively stable. Cathode materials were affected by raw material price fluctuations and downward revisions in end-use orders, prompting battery cell manufacturers to restock cautiously, with domestic production schedules in September expected to decline. On the consumption side, the September-October peak season effect has yet to materialize clearly, with end-use demand recovery in mobile phones and other terminals remaining limited, and the industry chain overall dominated by just-in-time procurement and destocking. In the short term, the market lacks clear upward drivers, and prices are likely to continue consolidating on a subdued note. Going forward, the focus will be on the strength of September restocking, improvements in end-use orders, and changes in upstream pricing strategies.
