SHANGHAI, Feb 22 - Will LFP production experience overcapacity after massive production expansion? According to the media, the existing capacity, after taking in all the disclosed production expansion projects, has reached 5 million mt, an obvious surpass over the downstream demand by 2025.

Assuming that the expansion projects will proceed as planned, overcapacity is expected to happen in 2023. Nonetheless, the actual time point will be later than estimated subject to various constraints including energy consumption controls, and lithium resource shortage.
