
On the evening of September 13th, Ningde Times (300750) announced that the company intends to invest in the construction of Ningde era new lithium battery manufacturing base (Yichun) project in Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, with a total investment of no more than 13.5 billion yuan. The construction period of the project is expected to be no more than 30 months from the start of construction, and the planned land area of the project is about 1300 mu.
Battery Network noted that as early as July this year, the Jiangxi provincial government and the Yichun municipal government respectively signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with Ningde Times. According to the strategic cooperation framework agreement, Ningde era will build production and manufacturing bases for new lithium batteries and corresponding upstream materials production bases in Yichun Economic and technological Development Zone and relevant counties and cities, so as to drive upstream and downstream industrial chain enterprises to settle in Yichun.
Ningde Times said that this investment in the construction of a production base will further improve the company's capacity layout and meet the needs of the company's future business development and market expansion, which is of great significance to promote the company's long-term and stable development.
According to SNE Research statistics, the global installed capacity of power batteries in the first half of 2021 was 115 GWH, an increase of 156% over the same period last year, of which 34 GWH was installed in Ningde era, accounting for nearly 30%, firmly ranking first. According to Ningde Times, in the first half of 2021, the company's power battery and energy storage system has a production capacity of 65GWH, with an output of more than 60GWH, with a capacity utilization rate of 92%; a production capacity of 92.5GWh.At the same time, the company will continue to significantly increase its future production capacity through fixed production expansion. Driven by the rapid growth of new energy vehicles and energy storage market, Ping an Securities expects lithium battery shipments in Ningde era to reach the scale of 100GWh in 2021.
In addition, Ningde Times also announced on the 13th that it plans to jointly invest with Shanghai Shida, Suzhou Xinyue and Jiang Yong to set up Suzhou Times Xin'an Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (chip) in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. (the actual industrial and commercial registration shall prevail), focusing on the drive and control system of electric vehicles. The registered capital of the joint venture company is 2.5 billion yuan, of which the company contributes 1.35 billion yuan and holds 54% of the equity of the joint venture company.
In addition to investment and production expansion, the Ningde era has received large orders and successfully issued $500 million in foreign bonds since September.
On September 9, Jinkang New Energy, a holding subsidiary of well-off shares (601127), signed a "five-year framework agreement on supply and demand linkage and capacity guarantee" with Ningde Times. According to the agreement, Jinkang New Energy will purchase power battery products from Ningde era between 2022 and 2026. Based on its own decision, the buyer shall make a request to the seller at least 6 months in advance, and both parties shall jointly confirm the total amount of purchase for the next year and agree on it through a subsidiary agreement. If the subsidiary agreement is not signed in the current year, the parties shall implement it in accordance with the annual dimension of 10GWh in the following year.
On September 3, Ningde Times announced that the company had successfully issued 500 million US dollars of overseas bonds. On September 10 last year, Ningde era made its debut in overseas capital markets: its two issues of $1.5 billion overseas senior dual-term fixed rate bonds were subscribed for more than $13.5 billion. After the completion of this issue, the cumulative amount of US dollar bonds issued by the Ningde era abroad is 2 billion US dollars.
