The U.S. House of Representatives voted on the 12th local time to ask Vice President Pence to use the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to remove President Trump. The vote was 222 for and 204 against. Before the resolution was passed, Pence had written to House Speaker Pelosi refusing to use the 25th Amendment.

According to previous reports, Pence refused to use the 25th Amendment before the resolution was passed. House Speaker Pelosi said on the 10th that House Democrats will propose a resolution asking Vice President Pence to use the 25th Amendment to the US Constitution to remove President Trump. If Pence refuses, the House of Representatives will press ahead with the process of impeaching Trump.

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States amends and regulates the succession procedures when the office of President and Vice President of the United States becomes vacant for various reasons, adding a new provision for the Vice President and Cabinet members to judge whether the President can continue to perform his duties. According to the United States Constitution, if the impeachment clause against the president is passed by a simple majority in the House of Representatives, it means that the president will be impeached. Next, the Senate will hear the impeachment case, and if 2/3 of senators support the impeachment clause, the president will be convicted and step down.

In addition, Trump's Republican Party also supports impeachment, sources said, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told "colleagues" that he thought what Trump did could be impeached, and was "happy" that Democrats pushed for impeachment. According to the report, he thinks impeachment will make it easier to "remove" Trump from the Republican Party.
