SHANGHAI, Feb 19 (SMM) – China’s exports of rare earths stood at 3,752.9 mt in January, down 3.5% from 3,889.7 mt in January 2018, showed the latest data from China Customs.
Exports of rare earths were 5,421 mt in December 2018.
Prices of rare earth products held stable last week, with higher prices of dysprosium oxide, SMM research found.
Rare earth trades in China were poor in the first week after CNY as firms had not returned and as shipping services had not fully recovered.
Optimism about prices of dysprosium products bolstered buying interest, promoting sellers to raise offers, but with limited transactions.
Trades of rare earth products are expected to improve this week, while prices would likely remain steady.
