[SMM PV Flash] Inox Clean Energy Files for an INR 100 Billion IPO with Debt Reduction as a Key Use of Proceeds

Published: Oct 01, 2026 13:36 (GMT+8)
Inox Clean Energy has filed draft documents for an initial public offering of up to approximately INR 100 billion, comprising around INR 80 billion of new shares and INR 20 billion offered by existing shareholders. The company plans to allocate roughly INR 60 billion of fresh proceeds to repay or prepay borrowings and may undertake a pre-IPO placement of up to INR 16 billion, which would reduce the fresh issue accordingly. The transaction remains subject to regulatory review and market conditions, but its scale highlights the growing use of public equity by large Indian renewable development and manufacturing platforms to strengthen balance sheets and fund expansion.

[SMM PV Flash] Australian Storage Company RedEarth Enters Voluntary Administration
RedEarth Energy Storage, an Australian designer and assembler of battery systems, entered voluntary administration on 25 September, with employees subsequently confirming that their employment had ended. Voluntary administration is not the same as liquidation: an independent administrator typically assesses restructuring, a deed of company arrangement, a return to directors or eventual liquidation, while the company has not yet issued a complete public customer notice. Treatment of existing orders, after-sales support and warranties therefore remains subject to further administrator guidance, highlighting the pressure on local storage brands from falling import prices, scale-up requirements and working-capital constraints.

[SMM PV Flash] Alberta’s Largest Battery Storage Facility Enters Commercial Operation
Northland Power’s 80 MW/160 MWh Jurassic BESS in Alberta has reached commercial operation, making it the province’s largest operating battery storage facility. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and below budget, with no lost-time incidents across nearly 75,000 work hours. A 15-year offtake agreement covers 100% of capacity, providing contracted cash flow while the facility supports grid balancing, congestion relief and further renewable integration.

[SMM PV Flash] Ørsted Starts Construction of the 200 MW Blackwater Solar Project in New Mexico
Ørsted has started construction of the 200 MW Blackwater Solar project in Roosevelt County, its first project in New Mexico. The development is backed by a long-term PPA supporting growing industrial electricity demand, will use US-made First Solar modules and is scheduled to begin commercial operations in late 2027. Annual generation is expected to match the consumption of more than 56,000 homes, while the project should contribute nearly USD 18 million in local property-tax revenue over its operating life, illustrating continued demand for domestically supplied, contracted solar capacity tied to industrial load growth.
