Operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises dropped sharply during the week sandwiched between the two holidays [SMM Lead-Acid Battery Weekly Operating Rate Comment]

Published: Sep 30, 2026 16:36 (GMT+8)

It is reported that during September 25–October 1, 2026, the SMM weekly comprehensive operating rate of lead-acid battery enterprises across five provinces was 58.08%, down 13.98 percentage points WoW.

This week, squeezed between the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, most lead-acid battery enterprises had holiday arrangements. Excluding some enterprises that did not take time off, other enterprises generally had one day off for the Mid-Autumn Festival and one to three days off for National Day, resulting in a substantial reduction in output and dragging down the weekly operating rate of lead-acid batteries. Next week falls within the National Day holiday period, and lead-acid battery enterprises will implement varying degrees of production cuts and holidays, with the weekly operating rate expected to continue its downward trend.
