The battery features a cloud-based BMS and high-voltage isolation technologies. Xiaomi said tests at 55°C and full state of charge showed that a fire in an individual cell would not spread to the rest of the battery pack. Xiaomi has also introduced a lifetime safety guarantee covering battery fires caused by manufacturing defects and certain collision-related incidents.

【R3 Lithium Begins Commercial Operations at U.S. Lithium Recycling Facility with 30,000 tpa Feedstock Capacity】 U.S.-based lithium recycling company R3 Lithium has initiated operations at its Covington, Georgia facility to produce lithium carbonate from 100% recycled battery materials. The facility has 30,000 tonnes per year of battery material shredding capacity and a 2,500-tpa lithium carbonate production line, with space allocated for an additional 2,500-tpa line. The company aims to process black mass and recover lithium into lithium carbonate entirely in the U.S., returning recycled materials to the domestic battery supply chain.

In August, China’s phosphate ore imports surged month-on-month (MoM), and the price center shifted upward. Total imports for the month were 116,000 mt, up 563.2% MoM, largely recovering from the extremely low base in July caused by the export ban. The average import price rebounded to US$94.6/mt, up 12.0% MoM. Egypt and Jordan together accounted for 98.3%, further intensifying source concentration. Meanwhile, after consecutive zero transactions, exports suddenly rose to 61,000 mt in August.
