HRC Export Schedule:September Steel Mill HRC Export Planned Volume Up 5.63% MoM

▶ This month's planned HRC export volume is 1.072 million mt, up 57,100 mt or 5.63% MoM from actual exports last month. Steel mill export plans have increased somewhat, mainly because domestic export prices bottomed out in August, coupled with some upward movement in overseas prices, prompting some overseas rigid demand to make purchases, such as flows to the Middle East and Turkey. The rise in Turkish demand was mainly driven by a supply gap in Russian sources, leading to a shift in procurement flows. However, some steel mills also reported that current volumes are more planned exports, and Southeast Asian demand has not fully recovered, so actual exports may be limited. In terms of new orders, after mid-August, both domestic and overseas prices were raised, and some previously wait-and-see orders began to be placed, with flows concentrated in Europe, the Middle East, India, and other regions. Overall, as export prices rise and stabilize, coupled with a slow recovery in demand, exports of sheets & plates may improve.
