China’s Dongfang Electric is advancing several power projects in Indonesia’s Batam area, with the Tanjung Sauh power project approaching commissioning, according to Petromindo. The progress forms part of broader efforts to strengthen electricity supply in Batam and nearby industrial areas, where power demand continues to rise alongside manufacturing and infrastructure development. Dongfang is also moving forward with other local power projects, reinforcing its role in supporting Batam’s generation capacity expansion and energy infrastructure development.

[SMM Energy Flash] Central Java Sees 55 MW Geothermal Potential at Gunung Ungaran

The Central Java provincial government is pushing the development of geothermal resources at Gunung Ungaran in Semarang Regency, with the area estimated to support around 55 MW of geothermal power capacity. The project remains at the development stage and will be subject to exploration and permitting requirements before commercial development can proceed.
