SMM August 25 News:

The market had divergent views on secondary refined lead today. Some smelters had tight supply, with no spot orders flowing out externally, maintaining parity ex-factory, with firm quotes, and did not support a downward adjustment in the published price. Most market participants suggested lowering the published price by 50 yuan/mt to follow the market. There were still shipments at a discount of 75-100 yuan/mt in the market, and spot orders in the industrial park were transacted at parity. Downstream buying sentiment was weak, with a psychological purchase price of 15,775 yuan/mt. High-priced cargoes were rejected, with only a small number of spot orders purchased as needed. Today, SMM secondary refined lead average price was 15,825 yuan/mt, at a discount of 75 yuan/mt from SMM #1 lead average price.
