Morocco's TitanBeach Project Achieves Breakthrough with Approved Mining License and High TiO2 Content

[SMM Titanium Flash]According to foreign media reports, Morocco's TitanBeach titanium heavy mineral sands project has achieved a breakthrough. The mining license for the core mining area has been officially approved, and the joint venture structure and engineering development agreement have been fully implemented. The project covers an area of 192 square kilometers, and preliminary exploration shows that the titanium dioxide content can reach up to 14.9%. The project will be advanced in stages, with the construction of a pilot mineral processing plant first, followed by the planning of commercial facilities. The development of this project is expected to help extend Morocco's aviation manufacturing industry chain towards the titanium raw material end, strengthening its key mineral supply capabilities.

[SMM Analysis] Canada’s Sulphur and Sulphuric Acid Import and Export Data for June

In June 2026, Canada’s total monthly sulphur exports were 527,305 10kt, down 15.43% MoM and down 8.62% YoY. The main export destinations were Indonesia (198,612 10kt), the US (158,031 10kt), Chile (54,672 10kt), Guinea (41,272 10kt), and China (32,730 10kt), among others; Canada’s total monthly sulphur imports were 1,035 mt, down 20.08% MoM and up 3.19% YoY. The main import sources were the US (912 mt) and China (105 mt), among others; Canada’s total monthly sulphuric acid exports were 123,140 10kt, up 101% MoM and down 12.086% YoY. The main import destination was the US, with a very small volume to Morocco; Canada’s total monthly sulphuric acid imports were 111,639.12 10kt, down 66.059% MoM and up 8.0132% YoY. The main import sources were the US (11,080.27 10kt), among others.
