China's Titanium Imports and Exports Show Mixed Trends in July 2026

[SMM Titanium Flash]According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, China's total imports of titanium concentrate in July 2026 amounted to 347,000 tons, marking a month-on-month decrease of 0.95%. From January to July, the total imports of titanium concentrate reached 3.276 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 12.24%. Exports of titanium sponge in July amounted to 572 tons, marking a month-on-month decrease of 37.14%. From January to July, cumulative exports of titanium sponge totaled 4,423 tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.05%. In July, exports of titanium dioxide totaled 144,000 tons, marking a month-on-month decrease of 22.07%. From January to July 2026, cumulative exports of titanium dioxide amounted to 1.213 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.36%.

In June 2026, Canada’s total monthly sulphur exports were 527,305 10kt, down 15.43% MoM and down 8.62% YoY. The main export destinations were Indonesia (198,612 10kt), the US (158,031 10kt), Chile (54,672 10kt), Guinea (41,272 10kt), and China (32,730 10kt), among others; Canada’s total monthly sulphur imports were 1,035 mt, down 20.08% MoM and up 3.19% YoY. The main import sources were the US (912 mt) and China (105 mt), among others; Canada’s total monthly sulphuric acid exports were 123,140 10kt, up 101% MoM and down 12.086% YoY. The main import destination was the US, with a very small volume to Morocco; Canada’s total monthly sulphuric acid imports were 111,639.12 10kt, down 66.059% MoM and up 8.0132% YoY. The main import sources were the US (11,080.27 10kt), among others.

Longbai Resumes Full-Scale Production at UK Titanium Dioxide Plant, Marking Global Expansion Milestone
[SMM Titanium Flash] On August 18th, Longbai Group's first overseas titanium dioxide production base, the Titanium Oxide UK's Hartepool factory, officially resumed full-scale production. This factory boasts over 50 years of experience in high-end titanium dioxide manufacturing. After being acquired by Longbai in April 2025, it underwent a four-month maintenance and upgrade, and has now resumed commercial production. It is expected to achieve full-load stable operation by early 2027. This move marks a new stage in Longbai's global industrial layout, which will enable localized supply in the high-end European market and further enhance its production capacity and market influence in the global chlorination process titanium dioxide sector.
