Trump Addresses US Bond Market, Iran, and North American Trade Talks
US President Trump delivered remarks on multiple topics including the US bond market, the Iranian situation, and the North American trade talks.Regarding the recent expansion of long-term Treasury buyback operations by the US Treasury Department, Trump stated that he did not instruct Treasury Secretary Bessent to intervene in the US bond market, adding that Bessent decided to act on his own, and claimed that US economic growth would naturally resolve the national debt issue. On the Iran issue, Trump said that the US has "completely controlled the entire region" and that Iran "could" reach an agreement with the US, but is "not ready" to do so yet. Referring to the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Trump remarked that the US "should be able to reach a deal with Canada," which is "going well," and that the US has also initiated a new agreement with Mexico.
