[Auto Conference], with Co-Title Sponsorship from Hongjin New Materials, Invites You to the 2026 SMM (8th) Automotive Supply Chain Conference

Published: Aug 14, 2026 11:46

The global automotive industry is accelerating its low-carbon and intelligent transformation, while China's automotive industry is moving from scale advantages toward leadership in both technology and the supply chain. In 2025, the penetration rate of NEVs in China exceeded 50%, driving upgrades in automotive materials such as aluminum, steel, and magnesium and fueling a surge in demand for lightweight new materials. With the implementation of the EU carbon border tariff, low-carbon upgrading across the industry chain has become urgent. As the 15th Five-Year Plan period begins and the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals enter a deepening phase, the industry urgently needs a professional platform to address material technology challenges.

Against this backdrop, will be held on September 10-11, 2026 in Shanghai, SMM, together with the joint title sponsor-Guangdong Hongjin New Materials Group Co., Ltd., cordially invites industry peers to attend and to help drive the automotive supply chain toward a deeper evolution in green, lightweight, intelligent, and global development.

Click to attend, and we look forward to meeting you at the event.

Specializing in Cast Aluminum Alloys for 30 Years

Guangdong Hongjin New Materials Group For nearly 30 years, Guangdong Hongjin New Materials Group has specialized in the cast aluminum alloy field. With the development vision of "Forging the Future" and the core mission of "becoming a quality partner in the global automotive supply chain", it is a leading enterprise in aluminum-based new materials with a business scale of RMB 10 billion, integrating R&D, large-scale production, and one-stop supporting services.

Hongjin New Materials Group has always attached great importance to the R&D and promotion of new aluminum alloy materials. It has successively established two R&D institutions, Huajin New Materials Research Institute and Nantong Hongjin New Materials Research Institute, and has developed close cooperative relationships with Central South University, Shandong University, Soochow University, Nantong University, Jilin University, Chalco Materials Research Institute, and major automakers. The company's new aluminum alloy materials featuring high thermal conductivity, high electrical conductivity, high strength and toughness, and high wear resistance have achieved relevant results, been successfully introduced to the market, and received positive feedback from customers. A new heat-treatment-free aluminum alloy material that can meet the requirements of large-scale integrated die casting for NEVs has been successfully developed, approved by OEMs, and is ready for mass production.

The company has filed multiple patent applications for its new aluminum alloy materials. It has passed certifications including ISO9001, IATF 16949, ISO14001, ISO4001, and ISO50001:2018, passed carbon footprint verification and greenhouse gas verification, and is involved in advancing ESG and ASI initiatives.

The main aluminum alloy product grades produced by Hongjin New Materials Group include:

standard grades such as ADC12, A380, AC46000, A360, ADC10, AISi12, A356, B39H, ALSI10MNMG, and ALSI7CUMG.

Proprietary grades include HJ03, HJ05, HJ05A, HJ06, HJ08, HJAM-05, HJ-GD08, HCS09, HJ09A, HJ09B, HJ12, HJ13, HJ15, HJ16, and HS330.

SPIC Inner Mongolia Advances Anode Changing with Mechanized Grabs, Boosting Efficiency and Safety
SPIC Inner Mongolia Company Huomei Hongjun Aluminum Power Company is actively advancing the mechanization upgrade of anode changing operations. By replacing traditional manual operations with multi-function unit grabs, it has achieved remote and precise cleaning of crust and sediment at the bottom of electrolysis cells. Operators control the entire process from a safe distance, fundamentally changing the previous high-risk mode of working close to high-temperature electrolysis cells with handheld shovels. Since the company launched the grab upgrade at the end of 2024, the results have been remarkable: the grab utilization rate has reached 87.8%, the average current efficiency of aluminum electrolysis cells has remained stable at 93.5%, anode changing workers have been reduced by one-third compared with previous levels, and labour intensity has dropped by more than 60%. According to estimates, each 0.1% improvement in current efficiency can raise annual aluminum production by more than 50 mt. Currently, the company is accelerating the repair and upgrade of the second batch of six multi-function unit grabs. Once all 12 units are put into use, anode changing operations will achieve a comprehensive upgrade that is more efficient and safer.
