SMM Perspective

Ruizhi New Energy's Pre‑A+ financing round marks its transition from local incubation under the Qinchuangyuan programme to a new phase with strategic state‑capital support from the Yangtze River Delta. Leveraging its technology transfer background from Northwestern Polytechnical University, the company has used its "active functional separator" to enter the supply chains of top battery manufacturers and achieve scaled deliveries, while simultaneously positioning its "membrane‑form solid‑state electrolyte" as a key material for next‑generation all‑solid‑state batteries. This has created a clear product roadmap of "mature generation, developing generation, and pre‑research generation". The dual‑track approach – advancing both the membrane‑form solid‑state electrolyte thermal composite technology and the active functional separator – balances short‑term commercial monetisation with long‑term technological moat building. However, from an industry competition perspective, the solid‑state electrolyte membrane space features diverse technology routes and dense deployment by both domestic and international players. Ruizhi's current scale remains relatively small, and the construction of its Yixing base and subsequent capacity ramp‑up will be critical tests. Overall, the company has a precise positioning and a clear path forward; whether it can sustain the balance between scaled delivery and continuous technological iteration deserves close monitoring.

Finally, we recommend SMM's premium conferences. Current progress and some participating companies and representatives are as follows:

This week (July 31 – August 6, 2026) saw a triple convergence of technological validation, capacity deployment, and capital influx in the solid-state battery industry. Zhongke Yuanben completed China's first on‑road vehicle test of a sulfide‑based all‑solid‑state battery, validating full‑stack technology integration. Sinocera finished construction of its sulfide electrolyte mass‑production line, while Ronbay Technology approaches a 100‑ton‑level cathode material demand. Tuoyi Guneng announced a RMB 6 billion, 30 GWh project in Inner Mongolia, and Weilan New Energy launched a Pre‑IPO round at a RMB 20 billion valuation. Overseas, Solid Power advanced its continuous electrolyte pilot line, and Factorial partnered with SK On to explore using existing Li‑ion production facilities for solid‑state battery manufacturing. 2026, as a critical window for industrialization, is shifting from "single‑point breakthroughs" to "systematic advancement."
