[SMM Rare Earth Daily Review: Stalemate in Upstream-Downstream Tug-of-War Holds Rare Earth Prices Steady] Overall, downstream inquiries have yet to increase significantly, while upstream suppliers maintain a strong intent to hold prices firm. The rare earth market remains in a stalemate of tug-of-war between upstream and downstream, with prices showing no significant fluctuations overall. In the short term, affected by the stagnant market trading, Pr-Nd product prices are expected to maintain a pattern of moving sideways in a narrow range.

SMM, August 11: The rare earth market prices remained generally stable today. Specifically, in the oxide market, Pr-Nd oxide prices held flat, dysprosium oxide prices held flat, terbium oxide prices held flat, gadolinium oxide prices held flat, holmium oxide prices held flat, and erbium oxide prices held flat.

In the metal market, Pr-Nd alloy prices fell by 2,500 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy prices held flat, terbium metal prices held flat, gadolinium-iron alloy prices held flat, holmium-iron market prices held flat, and lanthanum-cerium metal (alloy grade) prices held flat.

Currently, rare earth market prices are generally stable. Focusing on the Pr-Nd market, influenced by the stagnant Pr-Nd oxide futures, spot oxide suppliers' offers fluctuated relatively little, with low willingness to sell at cheap prices, making low-priced goods hard to find. Actual trading activity improved slightly. In the metal market, inquiries did not increase noticeably, the overall trading atmosphere remained sluggish, some metal enterprises lowered offers slightly, and actual transactions were in the doldrums.

In the medium-heavy rare earth market, inquiries remained sluggish, suppliers' offers were firm, prices had no significant fluctuations overall, and actual transactions performed poorly. Overall, downstream inquiries have yet to increase significantly, while upstream suppliers hold prices firm. The rare earth market remains in a tug-of-war stalemate between upstream and downstream, with prices showing no significant fluctuations. In the short term, affected by the market's stagnant trading, Pr-Nd product prices are likely to move sideways.
