【Core Signs 16 Million Tons of New Coal Sales Commitments in Q2 as US Coal Demand Remains Mixed】

US coal producer Core Natural Resources reported net income of US$126.467 million in the second quarter of 2026 and secured 16 million tons of new coal sales commitments. High-CV thermal coal sales rose 9% quarter on quarter to 8.4 million tons, while cash costs fell from US$42.56/t to US$38.58/t. Coking coal sales increased by around 8% to 2.3 million tons, with an average realized price of US$121.43/t. Meanwhile, Powder River Basin thermal coal sales declined to 10.2 million tons, with a realized price of US$14.28/t and cash costs of US$14.85/t, resulting in a cash margin of negative US$0.57/t. Core maintained its full-year coal sales guidance at 87.3 - 92.4 million tons, including 8.8 - 9.4 million tons of coking coal and 31.5 - 33.0 million tons of high-CV thermal coal.
