[PV Module Price Divergence]

Published: Aug 7, 2026 10:53
Today, quotations from domestic module enterprises diverged. Some market quotes were slightly raised by 0.01 yuan/W, while some enterprises temporarily maintained their previous quotes. The main reason for the divergence was that, for the price-hiking side, cost pressures rose due to expectations of polysilicon price increases on the cost side. For the price-stabilizing side, temporarily maintained prices were driven by limited end-user acceptance and even emerging resistance to purchasing. It is expected that subsequent module prices will still be negotiated to determine the final transaction prices.

[SMM PV Update] Conversion Efficiency 18.8%, Fraunhofer Institute and Source Energy Develop Silicon-Based Space PV Module
The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer ISE) in Germany, in partnership with US Source Energy, has developed a series of silicon-based PV modules for satellites. This product line combines silicon-based cells with shingled matrix interconnection technology and automated manufacturing, aiming to provide a low-cost solution for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites as an alternative to the currently expensive and supply-constrained III-V PV technology used in space applications.
