(News Flash) Indian miner NMDC's July iron ore production climbs 31%; domestic prices remain unchanged

NMDC's last price revision on July 10th listed $51.16/tonne (INR5,450/tonne) for Baila Lump (65.5% Fe) and $49.29/tonne (INR4,700/tonne) for Baila Fines (64% Fe). These prices have remained in effect through early August, with no subsequent revision announced by the company.
India's state-owned miner NMDC reported an increase in iron ore production in July, although sales were marginally lower from a year earlier, while the company kept its domestic iron ore prices unchanged following its July revision. According to NMDC's provisional monthly business update, iron ore production rose 31.4% year-on-year to 4.06 million tonnes in July 2026. Sales, however, eased 1.7% to 3.40 million tonnes during the month. For the April–July period, cumulative production increased 27.0% to 19.16 million tonnes, while sales edged up 1.1% to 15.15 million tonnes compared with the corresponding period last year. NMDC's last price revision on July 10th listed $51.16/tonne (INR5,450/tonne) for Baila Lump (65.5% Fe) and $49.29/tonne (INR4,700/tonne) for Baila Fines (64% Fe).
