Recently, French marine fuel cell enterprise Genevos and Dutch maritime enterprise Koodood Marine Group signed a letter of intent for cooperation. The two parties will collaborate on the application of fuel cell systems in inland and maritime transport , exploring the deployment and promotion of related technologies and driving the further application of clean energy in the maritime sector.
It is understood that the letter of intent was jointly signed by Phil Sharp, co-founder and CTO of Genevos, and Toon Muhlheim, Business Development Director of Koodood Marine Group, during a signing ceremony held at the Advanced Maritime Technology Show 2026 in Amsterdam.
According to information disclosed by both parties, Koodood Marine Group has long been involved in marine clean energy projects, accumulating extensive experience in ship power technology, and is currently participating in relevant collaborations with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and TNO. This time, the two parties will focus on studying how to utilize fuel cell systems to help ship operators advance low-emission operations and fleet transformation.
Genevos stated that Koodood Marine Group not only possesses deep maritime industry experience but also fully understands ship operation needs. This cooperation will be an important step in promoting the implementation of fuel cell solutions in inland and maritime transport scenarios, helping to provide shipowners with more efficient, practical, and scalable clean energy solutions while continuously reducing emissions during ship operations.
The industry believes that with the growing market demand for rapidly deployable clean energy solutions and the maritime sector's ongoing push for low-emission development, this cooperation is expected to further promote the exploration and promotion of ship fuel cell technology in the shipping sector.
