South Korean space solar technology developer FLEXELL SPACE has raised USD 20 million in Series A funding to accelerate development and commercialization of next-generation solar solutions for space applications, targeting full-scale production in 2028. The company develops lightweight, flexible solar cells based on perovskite and CIGS technologies for satellites, high-altitude UAVs, space stations and future lunar and Mars missions. It was also recently selected to lead a five-year, USD 7.1 million government-backed project to develop tandem solar modules for space applications.

Germany-based solar developer ib vogt has started commercial generation at its 99MW Tantangan Solar Power Plant in South Cotabato, Philippines. The project is the company’s second solar plant in Mindanao and its first hybrid solar-plus-storage project in Southeast Asia. It is expected to generate more than 150GWh of electricity annually, enough to supply over 82,000 households. ib vogt said Tantangan is the first of more than 500MW of hybrid renewable capacity it expects to have operating or under construction in the Philippines by the end of 2026.

Ark Energy has secured a final investment decision for its AUD 1.3 billion Richmond Valley Solar Farm and BESS in New South Wales, Australia. The priority phase includes a 200MW AC solar farm and a 275MW/2,200MWh lithium iron phosphate battery storage system. The project has secured planning, environmental and grid connection approvals, as well as a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement under the New South Wales Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap. Financial close is targeted for September 2026, construction is expected to begin in October 2026, and commercial operation is planned for January 2029.
