SHFE Cast Aluminum Alloy Warrants Down 91 mt to 21,105 mt on July 16

[SMM Flash] Data from the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) showed that on July 16, the total registered warrants for cast aluminum alloy stood at 21,105 mt, down 91 mt from the previous trading day. By region, the registered warrants were: Shanghai 2,343 mt (unchanged), Guangdong 2,331 mt (down 91 mt), Jiangsu 4,559 mt (unchanged), Zhejiang 6,940 mt (unchanged), Chongqing 4,147 mt (unchanged), and Sichuan 785 mt (unchanged).

PA Resources Bhd Renews $321M Supply Deal with First Solar for PV Module Production
PA Resources Bhd has renewed its supply agreement with First Solar Inc., First Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and First Solar Vietnam Manufacturing Co Ltd to supply aluminum extruded profiles for PV module production. The new contract is valued at 1.31 billion ringgit (approximately $321.22 million), with a term of 18 months from July 2026 to December 2027. According to PA Resources Bhd, this is the fifth supply agreement awarded by First Solar. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, PA Resources Bhd stated that the contract is expected to improve operational efficiency through optimized production scheduling, material planning, workforce utilization, and logistics coordination. In addition, the company expects the agreement to have a positive impact on its earnings and net assets.

[Aluminum Scrap and Secondary Aluminum Weekly Review: Secondary Aluminum Market Moved Sideways, Off-Season Supply-Demand Weakness Pattern Continued] This week, aluminum scrap prices moved sideways overall. On July 16, SMM A00 spot aluminum prices closed at 23,170 yuan/mt, rebounding 220 yuan/mt from last Thursday. Regarding the price difference, on July 16, the price difference between A00 aluminum and mixed aluminum extrusion scrap free of paint in Foshan was 1,972 yuan/mt, and the price difference between A00 aluminum and shredded aluminum tense scrap was 658 yuan/mt, still at extremely low levels.
