[SMM Stainless Steel Flash] Aperam Raises Stainless Steel Flat Products Surcharges for June 2026

Luxembourg-based stainless steel producer Aperam has raised alloy surcharges for its European austenitic stainless steel flat products for June, effective June 1, 2026. The surcharge for 304 rose to EUR 2365/ton from EUR 2243/ton in May; 316L increased to EUR 4056/ton from EUR 3813/ton; and 309S moved up to EUR 3192/ton from EUR 3020/ton. Ferritic grade 409 bucked the trend with a slight decrease to EUR 917/ton from EUR 921/ton.

Vale Reports Strong Q2 2026 with Record Nickel Production and Sales, Prices Rebound

On July 21, Vale formally released its Q2 2026 financial report. Benefiting from the capacity release of core projects in Brazil and Canada, the company delivered strong operational performance in Q2, with key figures as follows: Production hit a five-year high: In Q2 2026, finished nickel production reached 42,000 mt (42.0 kt), up 4% YoY, setting the best Q2 production record since 2020.
