On August 25, SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate average price edged down.
Cost side, under the impact of news on Indonesia's tax policy, nickel prices pulled back, and the immediate production cost of nickel sulphate fell; supply side, as costs remain at elevated levels, some producers intend to hold prices firm, while some producers have relatively high inventory levels and seek to sell and destock; demand side, recently some downstream enterprises mainly rely on long-term contract supply, spot order building sentiment is weak, and acceptance of nickel salt prices is relatively low. Today, upstream nickel salt smelter's Willingness to Sell Sentiment Factor was 2.0, downstream precursor plant's procurement sentiment factor was 2.3, and integrated enterprise sentiment factor was 2.3 (historical data can be queried by logging into the database).
Looking ahead, short-term spot order market activity is weak, and nickel sulphate prices are generally under pressure.
