[SMM Iron & Steel] ArcelorMittal Confirms €1.3 Billion EAF Investment in Dunkirk

On February 10, 2026, ArcelorMittal officially greenlit a strategic €1.3 billion ($1.4 billion) investment to build a new 2-million-ton Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) at its Dunkirk site in France. The French government will provide 50% funding support. The EAF is scheduled to begin operations in 2029, reducing CO2 emissions by threefold compared to traditional blast furnaces.
