PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) marked a major milestone on March 26, 2026, with the successful load-out of the Manpatu project jacket at Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands. Located 35 km off Balikpapan, the gas and condensate field is designed for a capacity of 80 MMSCFD. The project involves a 1,380-tonne jacket, a 1,100-tonne topside, 2.5 km of subsea pipelines, and the drilling of 11 new wells. Notably, PHM is pioneering the total use of local Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) pipes for the subsea system, while maintaining a safety record of over 2 million man-hours without LTI.
