[SMM PV News] Slovenia Deploys 146.5 MW of Solar in 2025

Published: Feb 23, 2026 10:31
Slovenia added 146.5 MW of solar capacity in 2025, a steep decline from the 298.8 MW installed in 2024, bringing the country's cumulative total to 1.57 GW. This slowdown is primarily attributed to a 90% year-on-year crash in residential deployments (adding only 45.2 MW) following the expiration of the national net-metering mechanism. Consequently, the commercial and industrial (C&I) segment has taken the lead, adding 92.6 MW, driven by state subsidies and an increasing focus on pairing photovoltaic systems with battery storage.
