Tembo Nickel Ltd to Commence Construction of Kabanga Nickel Mine in Tanzania This October

Tembo Nickel Ltd, a joint venture between Lifezone Metals and the Tanzanian government, will begin construction of the Kabanga Nickel Mine project in Kagera Region this October, marking a major step forward for Tanzania’s mining sector. CEO Chris Showalter reaffirmed the company’s commitment during a meeting with Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde, also announcing plans to build a domestic nickel refining facility to enhance local value addition. The project aligns with government directives requiring mining license holders to demonstrate project progress. Minister Mavunde praised the initiative as a transformative investment for the country’s economy and urged all licensed mining firms to begin development activities promptly and in compliance with legal obligations.
